What does it cost for a counseling session?

This depends on which type of counselor you are seeing.  Here is our fee structure:

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - $95 per hour

Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) - $65 per hour

Counseling Intern - $30 per hour

What is the difference in the types of counselors?

A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is a mental health professional who is highly trained to help people negotiate various emotional concerns.  They hold Masters (MAC, M.A., M.A.E., M.S.,) degrees in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field.  To become licensed as a professional counselor one must have graduated from an accredited program that required specific coursework and an internship.  Further, they must have completed two years of supervised clinical experience, a national exam, and they must agree to abide by a code of ethics.

A Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) has all of the requirements of an LPC, except that they are still working on their two years of supervised clinical experience and/or national exam.

A Counseling Intern is someone working on their Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and is in their final year before graduation.  They are under the supervision of an LPC.

Do we accept insurance or offer financial help for those in need?

We do not accept insurance directly.  However, we will provide you with a receipt showing the appropriate insurance codes so that you can file with your own insurance company.

A limited number of scholarships are available for those in financial need.  There is a simple form to fill out.  Please ask your counselor for additional information.
