Wings of Hope Tour
Wings of Hope was founded in1962 by four St. Louis business executives. They heard about a nurse in the Turkana desert of Kenya who used an aircraft to attend to sick mothers and children in nomad camps. The harsh desert conditions had worn out the fabric on her old Piper plane and the four men decided to provide her an all metal airplane. Thus was born Wings of Hope.
On Thurs., Feb. 23, we will visit this impressive operation which has been nominated for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. After our tour, we will dine at our favorite Hibachi restaurant, Oishi. Please sign up below for this fun and interesting outing. Cost for our day will be $17. Please meet at the church at 10:30.
St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon
Search for your lucky four leaf clover—find your pot of gold—or kiss the Blarney Stone at our St. Pat’s luncheon on Friday, March 16th. Traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage will be our fare and the wearin of the green is a must. Birthday cake will be our dessert (It’s Jeff’s birthday) and we have a special treat to entertain us. We have been able to book a group of local Irish Dancers to perform for us! As you can imagine, these dancers are in high demand around St. Patrick’s Day so we are thrilled to have them. Please meet in the Krew Room at 11:30. Cost for this day is $18.50.
